BAPTISM

We believe that water baptism according to the scriptures is a response of faith by believers. A gift from Jesus, it is a beautiful symbolic representation of His death, burial, and resurrection.

Baptism symbolizes the believer’s trust in and reliance on Jesus Christ, as well as a commitment to live in obedience to Him. It express unity with believers throughout the world, those who are members of the Body of Christ. Baptism does not save us; we are saved by grace through faith. Baptism is a commandment by Jesus, therefore we act in obedience and a desire to serve him as our Lord and Savior. We thank Father God for His love for us and the gift of the Holy Spirit who teaches as all things and equips us to walk in the newness of life!

  • Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
  • Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
  • Galatians 3:27-28 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
  • Romans 6:3-4 Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
  • 1 Peter 3:21-22 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.
